As places, garages are pure in-archi­tec­ture. They should be clear, safe and pleas­ant. We were able to test this in Park­garage Freyung in Vien­na. Each floor is kept in its own pas­tel shade. Impor­tant tran­si­tions are marked with black mosa­ic tiles.

“The City of Vien­na — Archi­tec­ture and Urban Design (MA 19) is show­ing high-qual­i­ty archi­tec­tur­al projects that were com­plet­ed in 2021 in the “gebaut 2021” exhi­bi­tion. The “gebaut 2021” archi­tec­ture prize was award­ed to 27 pio­neer­ing, inspir­ing and exem­plary new build­ings, exten­sions and con­ver­sions in Vienna’s urban area that also con­tribute to social sus­tain­abil­i­ty and cli­mate pro­tec­tion.“

Austrian Interior Design Award 2021October 25, 2021

Col­or­ful fruits, col­ors and lots of ter­raz­zo in the Opernpassage.Category: Gas­tron­o­my, hotel indus­try “The Juiz­za juice bar is locat­ed in the list­ed Opern­pas­sage under Karl­splatz in Vienna’s city cen­ter. The design picks up on the 1950s and was car­ried out in close con­sul­ta­tion with the her­itage office. The guid­ing prin­ci­ple was a danc­ing com­po­si­tion of vit­a­mins, fruits, col­ors and mate­ri­als. Wall and floor sur­faces were cov­ered pix­el-like with tiles in more than 25 shades of col­or …“

The mag­a­zine Architek­tur & Bau FORUM vis­it­ed the con­struc­tion site of the Buwog admin­is­tra­tion cen­ter togeth­er with Johan­na and Gre­gor Schu­berth. Restrained yet self-con­fi­dent, the build­ing with its con­tem­po­rary design lan­guage, which in its fil­i­gree del­i­ca­cy is rem­i­nis­cent of suc­cess­ful build­ings from the 1950s, is a clear con­tem­po­rary state­ment for sen­si­tive and well-con­sid­ered con­struc­tion in exist­ing build­ings.

When archi­tects run after a ball, they usu­al­ly do so in style. Hav­ing already been award­ed five stars in the run-up to the tour­na­ment, we made our claim and played against strong oppo­nents in mixed weath­er. The fact that we haven’t yet achieved a top rank­ing does­n’t real­ly both­er us; we rely on spon­tane­ity, enthu­si­asm and … the abil­i­ty to com­pete again.
