Exhibition design Hedy Lamarr

In terms of content and space, the exhibition is divided into the Viennese period and the years in Hollywood. While the first rooms are kept in sober gray, the rearmost room for the afterlife is kept in dark purple, as if lined with velvet. The curtain on the front wall is reminiscent of a classic movie theater. A media black box on her past and present as an artist and inventor.

A ceiling installation in the foyer illustrates the punched tape that synchronizes the change of frequencies. Decades later, modern transmission technologies apply a similar principle to improve the interference-free transmission of information.
In the “Hollywood Room”, life-size cut-outs of costumes and dresses invite you to pose next to — or instead of — the most beautiful woman in the world on a red carpet.
