Exhibition design Jewish Museum Vienna

The exhibition transports us into a parallel world of cultural history, the rooms of Palais Eskeles are neutralized and lose their concrete context. The cream-colored carpet and the adapted wall colors dissolve the rooms in favor of a blurred, flowing spatial sequence of the indeterminate background of history against which this exhibition takes place.

Dramatizations and crisis. At dramatic turning points, the friendly, neutral staging changes to a strong, darker color scheme — revolution, world war, anti-Semitism, restitution.
Scenic productions and object collages stimulate the imagination and help to bring the past to life.
